Poster Genre Research
We looked at examples of coming of age posters and noted that all of them used particularly bold colours and often featured the main protagonist of the film. We conformed to this convention of including the main character as the trailer/ film focuses on the life of Archie and his death. However, we subverted the conventions of the genre by doing our poster in black and white to suggest to our narrative.
Sound
For our sound we knew we were going to have a voiceover throughout the majority of the trailer but we also wanted some music which reflected our genre. We tried out various different songs we knew and liked and settled on 'Two Fingers' by Jake Bugg. We loved how upbeat it was and felt it truly reflected the genre. Obviously, due to copyright, we knew we would be unable to use it and so we recorded something with a similar feel.
Jamie Weekes, who also recorded our music for our AS Opening Scene, created this piece of music for our trailer. We are using this track at the beginning of our trailer and we feel it has a 'coming-of-age' feel to it.
We then looked for music we felt to increase the pace of our trailer and again link to our genre. Charlotte contacted Noah Kittinger, a fairly uknown artist about his song 'Nostalgic Feel' as we thought it would fit with what we had produced.
